During the holiday season, our branches assembled and delivered over 350 Essentials kits to local shelters! The kits included blankets, shirts, gloves, socks, combs and oral hygiene products. It was a wonderful time to work as a Team to benefit the community.

CalPrivate Bank was a Gold Sponsor of this epic 640-mile ride from San Francisco to San Diego. Our Senior Vice President of SBA Business Development, Joe Taormino, rode side-by-side with para-athletes, disabled athletes, and CAF supporters to provide opportunities and support to people with permanent disabilities, so they can pursue active lifestyles through physical fitness and competitive athletics.

Tim Himstreet, our Director of Commercial Banking, Captained a team for another fun event for The Commercial Real Estate Development Association, NAIOP, and the Professional Developing Leaders under 35 in San Diego. The event raised over $32,000 for Veteran’s Village of San Diego

Robert Mandelbaum from our La Jolla Branch is on the San Diego Board for the March of Dimes. CalPrivate Bank was a proud sponsor of the March of Dimes’ Signature Chef’s Gala at the L’Auberge in Del Mar. Proceeds from this benefit help the March of Dimes fund research, education, advocacy, and programs that help more moms have full-term pregnancies and healthy babies.

Our La Jolla Branch represented CalPrivate Bank at the 2022 Go Red for Women Luncheon. The American Heart Association has over 90 years of lifesaving history to combat the fight against heart disease and stroke. Our Finance Team used their holiday dinner budget to serve the community at the Orange County Ronald McDonald House. They cooked for the guests and their families while spreading holiday cheer! The Ronald McDonald House Charity has made a strong impact in the world by providing 685+ programs and reaching 60 countries/regions, 1.5 Million overnight stays with families, and 74,000+ Volunteers. CalPrivate Bank was a swag sponsor for the 15th Annual San Ysidro Health Classico de Golf tournament, the event raised over 200K to honor a great cause, their Senior Health Services. SYH is a network of innovative healthcare centers and programs in San Diego County, bringing essential medical, dental, specialty and counseling services to 108,000 registered patients annually — the majority of whom are women, children and seniors.

Our Coronado Branch participated at the Coronado Hospital Foundation’s Golf Tournament at the Coronado Golf Course. Coronado Hospital Foundation, through philanthropy, has been committed to supporting and championing frontline health care workers—physicians, nurses, and caregivers who courageously deliver extraordinary care to patients at Sharp Coronado Hospital —a legacy that dates back to the Foundation’s inception since 1978. The Golf Tournament raised over $240K! Funds from the tournament will be earmarked for The Campaign for Emergency and Intensive Care at Sharp Coronado.

As part of our ongoing community engagement initiative, CalPrivate Bank identifies nonprofit and community-based activities, that support children and families in crisis, facilitate access to health care, offer training and economic improvement opportunities, and address housing safety and security concerns within our communities.
CalPrivate Bank is helping to meet the credit needs of the communities in which we serve, comprised of San Diego, Orange and Los Angeles counties, including low-and moderate- income (LMI) neighborhoods. We do so by maintaining consistent safe and sound operations, practicing the ability and capacity to service, while maintaining high credit quality standards and sound non-discriminatory practices.
The Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) of 1977 encourages financial institutions to meet the credit needs of the communities where they operate. CalPrivate’s community development encompasses economic empowerment through small business development, job creation, affordable housing and financial education. The FDIC evaluates CalPrivate Bank’s CRA performance every three years.
