Your Opportunity: Senior Accounting Specialist

The Senior Accounting Specialist is primarily responsible for processing and maintaining fixed assets, prepaid accounts, and is responsible for executing a variety of financial processes including month-end and year-end closing, general ledger reviews, variance analysis, account reconciliations, and assisting with quarterly regulatory reporting.

 

 

What You’ll Do

  • Responsible for monthly fixed assets and prepaid accounting.
  • Supports daily liquidity and funds management.
  • Prepare general ledger certifications (i.e. correspondent bank accounts, asset/liability general ledger accounts and bank control accounts) and applicable schedules.
  • Assist in the month end close process and reporting, including variance analysis.
  • Assist in preparing the quarterly Call Report and supporting schedules.
  • Supports preparation of various analytical reports and information.
  • Analyze financial information to identify discrepancies.
  • Research and resolve discrepancies timely.
  • Collaborates with different departments to achieve the various deliverables on financial reporting.
  • Builds and maintains rapport with internal stakeholders and external agencies involved in the financial reporting process.
  • Additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Expected attendance in office.

 

AML/CFT/Compliance Responsibilities

This position includes direct or indirect interaction with customers and other employees and therefore includes responsibilities relating to BSA/AML. The employee will have opportunity to examine and view information and documents produced by other employees of the Bank relating to BSA and therefore has the obligation to report suspicious activity to the BSA Officer as appropriate. The employee is responsible for understanding and following the Bank’s BSA/AML policies including elevating suspicious activity to the BSA Officer. Additionally, the employee is required to understand and follow the Bank’s compliance program.

 

Who You Are

Experience & Expertise

  • Minimum of 3 years of Accounting experience.
  • Commercial banking accounting experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited university.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Minimum of intermediate experience in Excel.

  • Working knowledge of accounting related software.

Physical Demands

  • Primarily office environment.
  • Frequently required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel, reach with hands or arms.
  • Required to sit for long periods of time.
  • Occasionally required to stand and walk.
  • Occasionally required to lift up to 10 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision and the ability to focus and review large data sets regularly.

Salary Range: $62,000.00 To $77,000.00 Annually
