George Leis serves as Executive Vice President and Market President for CalPrivate Bank’s Montecito office, leading the Bank’s commercial and private banking efforts throughout Santa Barbara, Montecito, and the Central Coast. With more than 40 years of banking and financial services experience, he is known for developing trusted Client relationships, building high-performing teams, and helping businesses, nonprofit organizations, entrepreneurs, and families achieve their financial goals.

Prior to joining CalPrivate Bank, George served as President of Montecito Bank & Trust. Earlier in his career, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Santa Barbara Bank & Trust and held executive leadership positions with Union Bank, Deutsche Bank, Wells Fargo, and Bank of America. His experience spans commercial banking, private banking, wealth management, trust services, and executive leadership.

George believes the strongest banks are built by people who are deeply invested in the communities they serve. That philosophy has guided his career and his longstanding commitment to community leadership. Among the highlights of his community leadership are serving as Chair of the YMCA of the USA Board of Directors and Chair of the California Bankers Association. He continues to support several local nonprofit organizations dedicated to education, cultural preservation, disaster response, and strengthening the communities they serve.

George received a Bachelor of Arts from California State University, Northridge. Throughout his career, George has been recognized for bringing people together—connecting clients, businesses, and community leaders in ways that create lasting relationships and meaningful opportunities.

George and his wife, Laurie, reside in Santa Barbara.
